About Waterloo Appliance Repair

A direct booking line for one vetted, insured appliance technician working across Waterloo, St. Jacobs, Elmira and Kitchener, with gas appliance repairs handled only by a TSSA-licensed gas technician.

Waterloo Appliance Repair is a booking line. It is not an appliance company, not a manufacturer's service centre, and not a directory that sells your enquiry to a list of bidders. It connects to one local appliance technician working across the city: the student rental houses between the University of Waterloo and Laurier, the condo towers uptown with their stacked and compact units, the family homes in Laurelwood, Columbia Forest and Vista Hills, the older houses of Mary-Allen, Lakeshore and Beechwood, and the village and farm properties in St. Jacobs and Elmira.

Appliance repair attracts a particular kind of selling. A cheap advertised service call that turns into an expensive repair nobody explained. A part replaced on a guess, then another. A control board sold where a fuse would have done. A 'not worth fixing' delivered by someone who also sells new machines. Anyone who has had a few appliances repaired will recognise at least one of those.

The point of this site is a straight line to a technician who diagnoses before ordering anything, checks the cheap causes and Waterloo's hard-water scale before the expensive ones, gives you the repair cost and the replacement math in writing, and says plainly when the machine is not worth the money. The diagnosis is charged either way, which is exactly why the recommendation can be honest.

What we will not do: publish reviews we do not have, invent a rating or a star count, claim to be an authorised service centre for any brand, quote a fixed price on a website, sell you a new machine, or sell your phone number. This site is new. It says what it can do and nothing more.

• Stove, oven, range and cooktop repair, electric and induction; gas only by a TSSA-licensed technician
• Rental property appliance service for landlords and property managers with several units

What it does not handle

This site covers in-home repair of major household appliances. Installing a new appliance, running or connecting a gas line, or fitting a dishwasher into new cabinetry is installation and a different job. Small appliances, microwaves, and anything to do with your furnace, air conditioner or water heater are not covered. Gas-side repairs on ranges and dryers are done only by a technician holding the applicable licence from the Technical Standards and Safety Authority. A fault in the home's wiring, receptacle or panel rather than the appliance is electrical work through the Electrical Safety Authority and is referred to a licensed electrical contractor. Disposal of a replaced appliance follows the Region of Waterloo's rules, and workplace coverage is through WSIB. You will be told when a job belongs to someone else rather than sold something that will not fix it.

How this works

When you call 226-406-0850 or send the form, your details go straight to the appliance technician's dispatch. They confirm the appliance, brand and model, book a visit window that suits you or your tenant, diagnose the fault in your home, and give you the repair cost and a repair-or-replace answer in writing before any part is ordered. Gas appliances are routed to a TSSA-licensed gas technician. The work is done under their own insurance. Your information is not sold, not shared with a list of competing companies, and there is no markup added to your bill for the introduction.

What we won't do

• Publish reviews we didn't earn. When we have them, they'll be real ones with names.
• Quote a firm price before someone has seen the job.
• Send anyone into your property who we would not have in our own.
